High efficiency micronized binder for preparation of pressed pellets. This novel premium product has some very attractive characteristics, rendering it superior to traditional binder materials in many aspects:
· Small particle size (micronized powder): d50≅9 μm, resulting in better homogenization and coating of analyte particles, requiring use of less binder
· Excellent binding properties, allowing preparation of stable pellets of even tricky materials like SiO2, TiO2 or carbon, with lower dilutions.
· Low mass attenuation coefficient, as it is composed of only CH2 units resulting in less analyte signal loss to absorption, while still keeping a low scattering profile, and allowing measurement of nitrogen and oxygen.
· Very clean, presenting < 10 ppm Mg and Si, < 20 ppm Cl and C and around 50 ppm Al.
· Lower density than typical wax binding agents which together with a smaller particle size results in more particles present in the same amount, leading to more stable pellets while requiring less binder
· Excellent resistance to heat and radiation damage and no affinity towards moisture, guaranteeing stable and robust pellets with long shelf lives.
· Not hazardous, not toxic, not flammable, chemically inert and with no transport restrictions.
